Women's ponchos from Ecuador
We see them more and more often, the ponchos. These beautiful ladies ponchos are perfect for when it's a bit cooler outside or for a lovely evening on the couch. We have them in various prints and colors that are easy to combine.
These wool woman ponchos with South American motifs come from Ecuador. Here they are made by hand by small groups of people who live in the Andes Mountains. The people of Ecuador also often wear ponchos, as it is a traditional piece of clothing and originates from the border area between Chile and Argentina.
We have the woman ponchos in two different colors, namely the Poncho Blue and the Poncho Yellow. They are very cheerful and will be a colorful addition to your wardrobe! The sizes of these ponchos are all the same.
In addition to these beautiful woman ponchos, we also have very nice men's ponchos and 100% alpaca wool ponchos.
Wool poncho womens
The ponchos are made of alpaca wool and cotton. The alpaca wool ensures that the poncho is wonderfully warm and soft. This is because alpaca wool consists of hollow fibers. Hollow fibers retain air better, and therefore retain heat. The cotton provides some extra strength. Wool and cotton are both strong fibres, but by combining them you get an even stronger material and that ensures that the ponchos last a long time! The ladies' poncho is made of the same material as the men's ponchos.
Women's capes
When you wear this female poncho you will feel like you are being hugged by your favorite plaid. The material is so soft and warm that you won't take it off quickly. These ladies ponchos also has a hood and the shape gives you a lot of freedom of movement. The wool poncho womens are also called women's cape because they are often worn over other clothes. Usually a cape is open at the front but our ponchos are closed at the front. Often women wear a belt around a cape to close it, but did you know that it is also very nice to wear a belt over a poncho? This will create more waist!
Washing instructions
Ideally you would like to wear your alpaca poncho 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, but of course that is not possible. At some point, it must or will be washed, but how do you do that best?
It is best not to wash the poncho but to let it air out. Alpaca wool is self-cleaning and by allowing the wool to air, any unpleasant odors will disappear. But if there really is a stain, it is wise to wash the poncho. You can do this in the washing machine on a wool or hand wash program, preferably no higher than 30 degrees. Use washing powder with a neutral pH value or wool detergent. You can use fabric softener, but it is not necessary.
If you do not trust to put the poncho in the washing machine, you can also wash it by hand. For a hand wash, use cold water and wool detergent. Use plenty of water and do not rub. You can use fabric softener for wool. Use your hands to remove the excess water from the poncho, but do not wring it. Rinse with cold water and pat the poncho with a dry towel until most of the water is gone.
Wool drying
Finished washing and then what? It is very important to know that your woolen products should never be hung up to dry! And never put in the dryer! Instead, try to squeeze as much water out of the poncho as possible and let it dry flat over a drying rack or towel. Ironing the poncho is not necessary.
